System Capabilities

  • Employee Performance Management System - In defining an employee performance plan a supervisor has universal access to all of the organizational Mission Objectives and Strategies populated within the system. Additionally, the system facilitates the assignment of multiple managers in order to support the diversity of a multi-project focused business environment. Therefore, managers can collaborate and provide appraisal information online to both employees and their home supervisor of record. Employees can periodically contribute information relative to their achievements which is further utilized to assess individual and organizational performance as well as multi-level reports

  • Strategic Management Tool - The system provides the capability of electronically "linking" an organization’s mission objectives to any desired Agency goals. Reports are generated that cross-reference the agency/center goals with the supporting organization’s mission objectives, such that a verification can be performed to ensure that all Agency/Center goals are being worked. The linking information is also displayed on the employee’s performance plan, so that they can see the direct correlation between their assigned duties and the strategic mission of the Agency

  • Safety & Health Behavior Metrics - GPES collects metrics on behavior activities performed by managers in order to measure one aspect of the safety & health culture at KSC.

  • 360 Leadership Assessment - An individual 360-assessment tool was incorporated into GPES to evaluate the effectiveness of the KSC leadership training program.

  • Public Outreach Activities - Employees record their activities for educational, community, and customer outreach efforts.

  • Employee Performance Awards Managers can fill out forms to nominate an employee for a performance award. Office and award budget managers can approve the nomination on-line. Information about the approved award is then electronically transferred from GPES to another enterprise business system

  • Employee Change Log GPES has the capability to record and track changes that are made to an employee’s performance plan throughout the performance year.

  • Manage Strategies Employee’s can be assigned primary responsibilities for organizational mission strategies. The system supports the capability to view employee plans for accomplishing the strategy and the resulting achievements towards completion of that strategy.

  • Leadership Guide KSC developed a training program to enhance the leadership skills at the Center. Information about the program, training material, and reference documentation are provided as a guide for all leaders at KSC.

  • Technology Transfer Employee’s can record information about projects that they are working, which may have possible application to NASA Technology Transfer program.

  • Administration Functions Features in the system allow for Administrators from major offices to maintain employee and mission data information in GPES.

  • Link Change Notification When changes are made to agency/center documents, the system can detect the impact to the supporting organization’s mission objectives and provide notification to the office administrator to review and update the organization’s links.

  • Reporting GPES provides reporting capability at the Center, Office and individual levels. The reports can be downloaded by the user and are in the format of a Microsoft Word or Excel file.
