WINVICAR runs on a typical Pentium PC with 64 mb of RAM using any of the following Windows operating systems (98, NT4.0, 2000). WINVICAR programs can be executed from the command line or via a Graphical User Interface (GUI). The GUI interface requires that Microsoft Internet Explorer and the Microsoft Windows Scripting be installed on the computer. Both of these programs are currently free and available for download from Microsoft.
The WINVICAR package also includes a customized version of the MODTRAN radiative transfer code for determining and compensating for atmospheric effects in image data. The version of MODTRAN included has been customized to allow the correction of atmospheric effects in data from certain NASA imaging instruments such as the MASTER airborne simulator.
All users will need the password file as well as the code package to run WINVICAR.Follow these steps to get this software:
