Moderator Responsibilities
An Open Channel Foundation application moderator has the following responsibilities:
Develops and maintains information for the application site, including:
- Basic description of the software
- Vision and direction statement for future development
- Frequently Asked Questions list
- Other content as appropriate
Consults with Open Channel Software on issues relating to the distribution of the application
- Helps Open Channel decide on means of distribution (free open source, licensed open source, etc.)
- Makes current version of software and documentation available for download from site, and/or
- Helps Open Channel define and price products offered for order on the site
Initiates and moderates user participation, including:
- One or more forums, and/or mailing list
- Management of bug tracking system
- Management of patches and enhancements system
- Recognition of high-quality contributions from users
